Community support - donating products or services
Donating products and services is a great way to ‘give back’ to the community as well as an effective marketing tactic, increasing exposure for your brand.
If you’re a business that receives lots of requests for donations, it’s a good idea to have a sponsorship policy outlining the kinds of causes you will support. Having a policy will make it easy for you and your team to deal with requests and provides rationale for those requests that you can’t support.
You could also have a basic sponsorship application form which anyone requesting sponsorship must complete – this saves you time and ensures you have all the information you need to make a decision.
Example: Air New Zealand has sponsorship guidelines and a request form on their website.
Also consider writing up a sponsorship agreement for any businesses or organisations you choose to work with, to ensure that you receive recognition for your support.
