Paying a fair wage

appropriately rewarding your staff

Ensure you are paying your staff appropriately for their level of skill, experience or responsibility. A 'fair' wage is about paying at least the minimum wage, but equally that staff should be paid appropriately for their level of skill or responsibility.

Businesses paying the living wage see the benefits in reduced staff turnover costs, enhanced productivity and morale and lower rates of absenteeism.

You may not be able to transition to the living wage immediately. Having a plan to pay all staff the living wage by a certain date is a good first step.
