Abel Tasman Canyons goes Zero Carbon

Adventure tour operator Abel Tasman Canyons is now a certified Zero Carbon business. Working with EKOS, the company measured their carbon footprint and put measures in place to reduce this going forward. They then purchased carbon credits from a local project to offset their emissions.

Managing Director, Toine, Houtenbos, says "One of our main objectives for becoming certified Zero Carbon is to inspire others. Also another incentive for our domestic tourists to stay local, support New Zealand and save the planet. Nothing but wins!"

In addition to going Zero Carbon, the tourism operator has committed to sustainability across all aspects of its operation, including supporting the Tiaki Promise and Leave No Trace principles, creating environmental and cultural awareness on their trips, supporting ecological restoration projects and volunteering staff time.
