Great things, small packages

A bottle of wine and a super king-sized bed may be standard at some hotels – but how often do you find them inside your tent?

The Camp at Lake Hawea is hoping for happy campers with its latest product, a romance package for two.

Located on the edges of Lake Hawea with stunning lake and mountain views, the eco-friendly camp has developed a two-night glamping getaway with 'all the luxuries of a hotel and the excitement of camping and being in nature'.

"A camping trip could be the perfect way for couples to unwind as they spend time admiring the views and relaxing together without the interruptions of daily life, connecting with nature and exploring the many local walking or biking trails," says Sarah Burdon, who bought the camp with partner Richard in 2009.

The package includes a two-night stay in a luxury glamping tent complete with super king-sized bed, Maude Rosé wine, homemade fudge, and complimentary bike hire for two people. Barista coffee and a bagel breakfast can be arranged and delivered to your tent for breakfast in bed.

As well as innovating with new products, The Camp is committed to environmentally-friendly practices and asks its visitors to 'help care for the Earth'.

"We're always looking to apply an environmentally-friendly approach to water usage when we can," says Sarah. "The Camp is semi-rural and as such we get water from water tanks rather than from water mains. In general, our showers and toilets are gravity-fed."

"We get rid of all waste while guests are here, including compostable material and recyclables. We are passionate supporters of the reduce, reuse and recycle approach."

Available until end April 2020, the package costs $169 per person for both nights.

The Camp's new package means the business is meeting Visitor Sustainability Business Commitment 5 - Product and Market Development: Businesses innovate to improve or upgrade their offering to enhance visitor experience.
